From a Concerned Parent,
WARNING DO NOT LET YOU CHILD ATTEND THIS UNIVERSITY!!!
This is the last straw. On the phone this morning we have been lied to about FERPA, run through an endless administrative loop and deferred to several people that were to busy to help us. We did get a call back from the Dean of Students office who told us we could pay a fee for the information.
Every interaction we have with this school is like having a root canal without pain medications.
I was a student here from 2002-2006. Had a wonderful time. Returned this past week to see the campus had practically exploded. The new student center and dining hall are amazing! I cannot imagine having had some of the options these students have when I was there. (Students who complain about stuff now are chumps.)
Lets start at the beginning. The tour was great. They anserwed all our questions correctly and there was a lot of them. Either they fed us a pack of lies or there is a complete disconnect in their minds from what actually happens at the school.
LeTourneau University will nickel and dime you for money every chance they get, make almost all decisions in their favor without regard for you, your time or the well-being of the student.
Beautiful place with wonderful people. The academics are rigorous and applicable.
If you choose to allow your child to go to LeTourneau University then get ready to fight at every turn to get the smallest thing accomplished.
My daughter's professor's were very good and concerned about her education and her life. However they have limited resources and no administrative support. Special assistance of any kind is not made available unless it is directly from the professor, or you do what I did and hire a private tutor.
Today I finally had enough when we tried to get some basic information and were informed that it would cost us money to get her grades from her last semester. The school never released the information to her, infact they locked her out online before it was issued.
Best Christian University!!! I went to LeTourneau University as a exchange student from South Korea. They had such nice and friendly staffs and professors treat you like a family. I made many friends there and some of them invited to their home to stay during the spring and summer breaks. I also had opportunity to experience new and diverse culture. I went to African American church for couple month while I was attending school. They were all like one big families. I was never exposed to diverse American culture but I was so happy that I had that opportunity. I took some Business classes, Psychology classes, Kinesiology classes. They were all so well taught. Also I had opportunity to travel to Honduras as a part of International Business class. It was so fun and new learning experience. I met my husband here too while I was attending school. They provide married couples' housing for those who are married. I would say this university is where I want to send my daughters in the future. I trust faculty and students here unlike other secular colleges :)
My daughter had a horrible experience with LeTourneau University and has changed schools.
I hate to write such a negative review but LeTourneau University has forgotten that they are dealing with young peoples lives and repeatedly have shown that they have little or no concern at all about their students or alumni.
I have been attending LETU for almost a year now, enrolled in their EC-6th Early Education all online, in module form, so 5 week courses. I have cut off a year because of these modules. Literally, I have had the utmost BEST experience. Every single person I have come in contact with, administrators and educators alike, have been wonderful. My advisor, Audra Rittenberry, is fantastic! She replies within a day to emails and was willing to talk on the phone with me in the beginning to deeply explain their program. It takes a disciplined person to get all the assignments done each week on your own time frame but they will work with you if they see you're working! I have referred so many people to this school because I believe it is a great Christ-centered school. Also, the 2 required bible classes I have had to take, I have learned SO much. I don't see how someone does not like this school.
