I've been coming here since I was a kid. Absolutely my favorite Mexican restaurant in the world... yep i said the world.
Horrible customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have personally never eaten here and the way we were treated tonight..I will never eat there. The lady i sit for wanted 2 cheese enchiladas dinner with onions and a taco on the side. I ordered and went to go pick it up. The Hispanic man behind the counter greets me graciously and tells me my total is $10.01. I pay and turn to grab my food off the metal cart behind me and leave. I did not check it but there was only 1 to go plate and 1 paper bag with chips inside tied plastic bag. I go to drop it off and leave. I get a call from the other provider saying that the order was wrong. There are 2 tacos and no enchiladas. She said when she called to let them know, the man was adamant that he had sent the right order. I then call Gonzalos and introduce myself and why I was calling. The man who answers is VERY rude making it seem as if I have stolen something and we're lying about 2 tacos being on the plate instead of 1. Told me I had 2 to go plates (there was only 1) and the order was correct when I left because he watched them make it. (But did you watch them pack it?) Told me in a very rude tone to just bring the plate back tomorrow and he'll give the money back. Very bad customer service. I had picked up a to.go menu when I left because the food smelled good while I was there and I was going to give them a try at another time...pssshhh they will NEVER see a dime of my money if anyone asks I'll tell them the same. Very disappointed ALMOST customer.
It is a friendly family owned joint and the food is wonderful. Mr G treats everyone like family and remembers everyones name. They have cold beer and friendly staff. The mild sauce is my favorite, but the also have hot if you like spicier. Also they have great quacamole and queso.
Best Mexican food in town by far! If you’re looking for a good local place where staff is friendly and food is amazing then you have to stop in! A local favorite for everyone who lives in Longview. We’ve been going for over 20 years and still have yet to find food and staff this great.
Mr. Gonzalo is a great guy who works the counter most days. Their food is some of the best TexMex in Longview, and they're famous for their Tacos Al Carbon. Small quiet place, great prices.
My favorite dish? Beef enchilada dinner.
